Can anyone on here give a really clear definition of this or a sample workout programme?

If this is a name for a new type of workout routine then no sorry; however, any activity raises your metabolic rate. I've read in a few places that resistance training generates an after-burn effect whereby your metabolic rate stays higher for a little while longer after the workout, as opposed to cardio where it falls quite rapidly after the session. Be warned though, as usual there are plenty of places saying that the after-burn is insignificant and people should worry more about getting fit and keeping active than the 'tricks' that you can play on your body.
Hope that helps a bit0 -

Generally when people talk about "metabolic resistance training" I think they generally refer to weight training that also pushes you very hard cardio-wise. From what I gather this is generally intense circuit-training style workouts. I think a lot of kettlebell routines can generally be described as "metabolic resistance training", too.0
