I found this web site and I must say I am way impressed with all it offers. I haven't really joined in all the messaging forums as yet. So today I am getting my feet wet. All the positive energy that is here is amazing. I am so honored to be part of this healthy life journey and so glad I found this unique site. I have 80 lbs. to lose as a goal and so far I am 4 down! I have an exercise buddy at work, and my dog loves to walk with me at home, but I have been having a hard time getting back on the exercise wagon. I was doing so well, I had lost about 50 lbs. about 1 year ago but I started blacking out and having heart palpitations and my doctor advised me to quit. They ran all kinds of tests and found out that there is nothing wrong with my heart but they believe when I workout that my blood pressure drops and I am more susceptible to heat exhaustion. They believe that is why I exhibit these symptoms. So here I am, after gaining 30 lbs back over the last year (talk about depressing), trying to find my way back. I was walking 4 miles a day when I quit and swimming laps. I know that these symptoms may and probably will reappear when I start working out again. Any suggestions for finding my inspiration again?

Thanks for the welcome. So I am curious, not being all that computer savvy. How do you get your tracker ticker to post with your messages?0

go to tools, the click on make weight loss tickers. then make the one you want and copy the code. after you do that, go to settings and then click on change forum signature and post the code in there and that should do it for you.0

Welcome! :flowerforyou:
Good for you for hopping back on the wagon! :drinker: We have some very knowledgable people around here (not me) that may be able to offer suggestions about safe and effective exercises. If you don't get a good response here, then try creating a thread that explains your problems.
Best of luck!0 -
I had a similar experience. 2 years ago I lost 65 pounds but then landed up in the hospital with asthma attacks at least once a week (One time I was hospitalized for a week and half). Doctors advised me to stop the workouts until we could figure out what level of exercise I was good with. Since then I've had a herniated disc as well and so exercise is even tougher.....
The key is in moderation - knowing what your body can take and what it can't. Since my initial weight loss, it's all come back and brought buddies (I'm at my heaviest either) but I keep moving as best as I can....the way I see it, losing the weight (even if it is slow but steady) can only be good for me and reduce my symptoms. Hope it works for you too0 -
you should definitly get a heart rate monitor and have a personal trainer set up a program for you. If you know your zones you can stay within them and get the exercise you need with out the risk of over doing it.

Hi, and welcome!
I've read threads on the board saying that you CAN lose weight without exercizing. So maybe you should try that for awhile, and then once some of the weight has come off, you can gradually try a little walking, and see how it goes.0 -
