How do I find a female friendly boxing gym?

Not a pansy boxing gym, just one that I would feel relatively comfortable walking into? I've never boxed a day in my life.

I box. Find gyms in your area. Go to them. See if you like it.

It's about the same cost as any gym I found.

i want to go to a gym for that too. but i hate how they look at you when you are in there for that kind of stuff. :-(

I would just google and check them out in person. I would be intimidated, personally. My trainer has me box occasionally at my gym and I see all the guys smiling, like, "Isn't it so cute that she is boxing?"

I dated a girl who was into boxing. She just went to any old L.A. Boxing in the DC area. Of course, she liked the attention and I didn't mind her getting it from other guys.

Hope you find one, as a family I took my children and myself to Tae Kwon Do, as boxing with children and parents does not mix...

But I love sparing with my children, as they do me too!!

How did you get on? Does it have to be boxing? Have you thought about martail arts?:flowerforyou:

I dont know where you live but perhaps a call to your local Chamber of Commerce? Businesses love to get connected with the COC ... especially when people move to their area - by connecting with the COC, its advertising!
