Where to start?

I need to start getting back to lifting. I want to be able to beat my max bench from my jr year high school of 195lbs.
Where do I want to start? I need to really strengthen my quads, too.
Any and all advice is welcome.

Look into "Starting Strength" or "Stronglifts 5x5".0

I should add. I'm not buying anything. No books, no DVDs, nothing. Where do I start in the gym?0

bench press and squats. add in dead lifts and pull-ups (hopefully your gym has an assisted pull-up machine).0 -

Talk to a competent trainer and/or scour the internet and read up on proper form. Form is critical for squats and deadlifts, and for any other exercise for that matter.0 -

where you most likely started in hs... in gym class. if you don't want to read up on it outside of your gym time, you can probably find a class at your gym for strength / resistance training.0
