You need to make your diary public.

You have to go into the settings and set your diary to be open to anyone; right now, yours is locked.

you need to make your diary public first in settings :-)
  • I would be happy to help you .just post your diary and I will look at it...good luck don't
    give up
  • sorry i've changed it
  • You seem to be eating a lot of carbs for dinner. I personally wouldn't eat potatoes or bread as well as pasta, rice etc. You'd do better swapping the waffles for a portion of veggies.

    Hello :flowerforyou:

I had a look at your diary. First of all I'm no expert but I can advise on what has worked for me in the past. Everyone is different

I noticed there are a lot of ready meals and fizzy pop in your diet. Although they are calorie counted (ready meals) they are full of salt and stuff that don't really help nutrionally speaking. And fizzy pop, I have no idea why, but drinking lots of it doesn't help.

I know this because that's how I started out and I wasn't getting anywhere. I ditched the ready meals and stopped drinking so much pop and things got moving.

Now I can't cook for toffee, I have no idea about putting meals together really and I don't have time for cooking up delicious meals but I still eat healthy. Feel free to friend me and have a poke around my diary.

Lots of people will give you lots of advice (hopefully). Take what you need from all the advice and find a life plan that you can work with. Its all trial and error but you can make it work.
    Good luck :flowerforyou:

you need to add in more fresh fruit and veg, less soda and aim to eat much closer to your goal , your quite a lot under it on some days !Oh and water, water , water....

    Good luck on your journey:flowerforyou:
  • i'm never gunna lose it i hate veg haaaaa
  • You should really only be having one soft drink can a day max, some diet soft drinks (coca cola) contiain cafine which can affect weightloss if you have trouble giving up soft drink what I do is I force myself to drink at least one litre of water, then I drink diet cordial (make sure u check labels some are not so good) and only have one can of soft drink with dinner (try caffine free diet coke - it takes a while to get used to but you wont be able to tell the difference after a while). also why arn't you eating lunch? You should be eating minimum three meals a day, but it would be better to have 5 or six smaller meals. Good luck :)

You sound so much like me its uncanny  I hated all veg. I wouldn't let any of it past my lips. When my husband cooked a roast, he would hide all the nice stuff under the veg so I would have to eat that first. I just pushed it out of the way
Then, as I got serious about losing the weight, I realised that if I didn't start liking veg it was going to be quite a miserable existence for me.
I started off with the veg I knew I could stomach, like potatoes, peas and sweetcorn with a dollop of tomato ketchup on the side. Or my friend's magic sauce poured over the top. Gradually, very gradually, my tastes actually did change. Now I love veg (still not struck on the whole fruit thing :ohwell: ) I even eat cauliflower and celery :noway:
It depends how serious you are and how desperate you are to lose the weight. Only you can make the changes.
    xx
  • from now i'm havin no diet cola and just water and i'll cut my carbs i really can't eat veg just the thought is sickening but i'll eat fruit if i still arn't doing it properly plez post me

There's no need to cut out the diet coke completely. Just don't have so much of it. I have about 2 beakers full a week and it tastes sooooo good.

I know people who don't like some veg (have a friend who can't stomach carrots no matter what) but there has to be some you like. It a case of finding out what and how you like it cooked. Like I said, its all trial and error. You'd be surprised. I know I was.
  • if i was to eat the same as i am now but not have waffles with my dinner but an apple after would i still lose weight thats my main worry that i'm not going to lose it!

From what I can see, you are not eating enough-you should net 1200 calories a day minimum-eating under this will probably result in you stalling. You should eat less carbs, more protein, more fruit and veg. I would swap your crunchy nut cornflakes for porridge or fresh fruit and low fat yogurt. I would reduce the diet coke to 1 or 2 a week. More fresh meat, maybe some eggs for protein. I dont like a lot of veg but I do eat salad and broccoli, carrots and cauliflower and I eat it all the time. Yes it gets boring but you want to lose weight right?

Eating an apple instead of your waffles is a good choice but dont expect that to result in a magical weight loss overnight. You need to eat more fresh stuff. And you need to eat proper meals every day and how about a little bit of exercise?

All the above has worked for me. Ive lost 51 pounds so far....

Hi, I agree with most of the other posts and especially with Debswebby.
However If you really want to get healthy and stay healthy you have to start eating at least 5veggies/Fruits per day:(. Try finding veggies you like or make a salad and douse it with Olive oil and Balsamic vinegar or some sort of light dressing that helps you push it down. Eventually your taste buds will adapt to the taste and you will acquire a taste for Veggies. I used to hate most veggies and salads as well but learnt to change my taste buds and now I must admit there are lots of them I love to eat.

As far as those fizzy drinks I am real glad you are cutting them out!! All that artificial sweeteners are really toxic to your system and don't really enhance weight loss. Water is the way to go:)

Friend me if you need help .

I see that you've already lost over 3lbs. Well done to you. When you eat a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. However, because your diet lacks variety it will get old pretty quick and lead to going off the rails. Also the processed stuff brings its own problems. It will sap your energy and could lead to constipation and other tummy troubles. Eventually all these things will bring the weight loss to a stop. This is what I found anyway, as I said, everyone is different.
By trying new things a whole new world opens up to you and dieting doesn't seem like so much of a chore. Its all about finding something that works that you can live with for the rest of your life.

Have the apple as well as your waffles. The waffles aren't really that much of a problem on their own. Its when you add them to the ready meals that it doesn't make a very nutrional meal.

Try this: Get a ready meal that has a lot of sauce in it and add a handful of mixed frozen veg or peas. That way, the veg is disguised by the sauce. It'll be a start. Baby steps. That's what you need.

I have to ask as well - and be honest - have you tried all the vegetables and found you don't like them? Or is it ithe thought of them that you don't like?
There is no point trying to eat something you really detest but if its a case of not having tried them then you are limiting yourself somewhat and not giving yourself a chance.

OP, you aren't alone on hating the veg!

I really cannot stomach any veg except potatoes and processed peas! (If that even counts as a veg).

I take my supplements to assist in the nutrition department. I keep a healthy deficit. I exercise hard 6 times a week.

I've never felt better, looked better, or weighed less! :D

So, you don't HAVE to eat tons of veggies to lose fat and get healthier. Much more important to find a way to get your nutrients and keep that calorie deficit that you can maintain forever if need be. :)

I would say that counts. Nothing wrong with potatoes and peas. Love 'em especially with a bit of fish

Personally, I won't eat fruit except bananas. Have tried them all and I don't like them enough to bother with them. Fruit will never be as good as chocolate when you want someting sweet

LOL I know what you mean. My husband still won't eat mashed potatoe or fish fingers because that's mostly all he got when he was a kid and my mum wouldn't eat chips because that's mostly what she was given. I was a greedy kid and am a greedy adult so, as long as someone cooks it and puts it in front of me, I'll eat it lol However, I was always being told to eat my veggies and I wouldn't. Like you, I just stopped eating then as soon as I was out on my own. How they're prepared is the big thing with them. Some people like them mushy, some people like them with a bit of bite. I love roasted veggies (have to be careful with the oil though). experiment a bit. If you don't like it, don't have it again but you might be surprised.

Baby pots and raw carrots are a good start. Why don't you try a mouthful next time your hubby is cooking the veg for the kids?

Of course, its entirely your choice as well. If you find a way of losing weight happily and not eating stuff like that like HmonsterX, good on you. Like I said, its all about finding what works for you. xxx
