new phone :)
hey guys,
need a new phone from TMOBILE - trying to decide between BB 9900 or HTC amaze. thoughts? THANKS! :flowerforyou:
- i want something that will not have to be charged every 2 hours ( i just use the basics, talk text and sometimes web but i dont stream a lot of music or video)
-good camera ( i don't own a digital camera so my camera phone will be capturing any and all my pictures)
- long lasting (i like to keep my phones for a minimum of 1 - 2 yrs)
- i'm not very high tech nor do i like to deal with complicated electronic stuff haha so i'm kind of intimidated by the HTC since i've never owned an android, i've had an older BB for a few yrs now
- no i''m not switching to verizon or att for an iphone, tmobile has the cheapest plan for me

I don't have T-mobile but I did go on their site to look up both phones you are referring to....
They do allow you to compare the phones side by side which I highly recommend you should do. Based on what I looked at, the HTC has a much better camera and better video. Also it has more memory to store you stuff. It's a little heavier than the blackberry and the battery life is a little less but battery life I have come to find as subjective to your usage. If you are constantly using it, the battery will go much faster than if you are only on it when you need to be.
Another thing to ask yourself is how much do you value the physical keyboard? I don't know what kind of phone you have now, but I know some people just prefer the keyboard and don't like all touch screen phones. Just soemthing to consider.
If it were me, I'd pick the HTC.
Good luck in your phone purchase!0 -
aww thanks, you're so sweet to go through the trouble. I did go to their website and compare and you're right HTC looks like a better phone overall definately better camera and video but the one thing I value about the BB is the keyboard but I like that this model of BB has both keyboard and touch screen. also i use BB Messenger to talk to my friends and family every single day and that is one feature I dont want to lose.
this is hard haha. and i've been debating for weeks now!
I guess I'm looking on feed back from those of you who have used either of both of these phones to give me your feed back.0 -
It is a rough choice I'm sure.
I used to have a blackberry but have recently switched to iphone. I did love the BBM but as all my friends upgraded and switched phones, it kind of dropped off for me. I had a curve and then a storm2. I like the touch screen on the storm2 but HATED that you actually have to push the screen like a button. I do know someone that has that BB you are looking at and she loves it. She likes that she can use the touch screen but still type on the keyboard. I think it will really come down to what your personal preferences are. If you are used to blackberry, then it may take a week or so to adjust to a different platform (android in the case of the HTC).
do you know anyone that has either that will let you play with it for an hour or so to see how you like it? or does t-mobile have a policy that may allow you to switch within a certain timeframe if you decide you dont like it?
thanks for the friend request, I added you!0 -
I am on verizon and I have an HTC Thunderbolt. I love it! HTC sense is a great ui!0

HTC makes good solid phones that are pretty easy to use, and high quality build. Android is also now the most popular smartphone OS, and is continually growing. Definately not a bad choice. Also HTC screens are normally absolutely beautiful0
