Hi there!

I work nights 6pm-6am. Looking for positive fellow night workers that may have some good tips and advice for staying on track with healthy eating and NOT eating ALL night long!

I know....just say NO! But it's so hard when your fellow co-workers are always bringing in fattening food to share with everyone. HELP!!!

  • I just got off of night shift after working it for several years. It is hard to be healthy while working nights. Do you work in nursing? That is a double whammy because everyone feels the need to show nursing staff their appreciation with food. UGH!!

I think that the most important thing for night shifters (everyone really but it is especially difficult for those who work night shift) is to make sure that you get a good amount of quality sleep. As a single mother, I looked at night shift as giving me an advantage because I was able to work and still be active with my kids and their school. Of course that meant sacrificing sleep and my health which in the long run really didn't help my kids at all!

Research says that people who are well rested eat 300 less calories a day than those that are sleep deprived. Getting that sleep helps us to be strong against temptation while being more mindful of what we're eating, and it also helps with metabolism.

    Get your sleep!!
