Lol the mods deleted that post. What a joke.0 -
Ideally slab bacon that you can cut your own slices
panchetta is pretty awesome for various dishes as well
Panchettta is awesome stuff.
Eat bacon. Enjoy it. Fit it in your diet.0 -
I eat bacon all the time. It's great.0

I love bacon. I limit it to the weekends. One of my tricks is to have my husband cut the pieces in half or thirds before cooking. That way when it gets to my plate it looks like I'm eating more bacon due to the volume of pieces. Forgot to add we eat 2 pieces each when we cook it, regular version.0

We raise a few pigs each year. One for showing at the Fair (Won grand champion in August!), one for us and one for some friends. The bacon is SO much better, and leaner, than store-bought! Like Amycal said earlier in this post (before it took a turn to a comedy show-lol) you might trying to buy from a local farmer if you can. Well worth the extra cost0

Don't read this thread then

I think I just converted to Baconism.0

So can I get my bacon wrapped in turkey then?
The Swanson: Bacon-wrapped Turkey Leg (the only time the words "turkey" and "bacon" should be used together)
LOVE all of your Ron Swanson-isms! "Ron Freaking Swanson" - LOVE HIM!0 -
It's not so much the calories in the bacon...but more in the 2 slices of bread plus the spread that makes it a tough choice for me to spend my calories on it!
300 calories for the bread and spread, then the bacon...hmm, is it worth that calories?0 -
Bacon nachos.. it will happen!0

Seriously Just keeping this thread alive because bacon deserves the time to be spoke of in a respectful manner.
Thick cut bacon, is a good option.
Thin cut bacon, is a good option.
Mmmm bacon bits.
Smoked is often good for bacon. I prefer hickory. Allow me to draw a parallel.
Heroin = Bacon
Cocaine = Hickory
Now think....Hickory Smoked Bacon....MMmmm
Steer away from the Canadian bacon...the Canadians like to live high on the hog so to speak, and I just don't think that they appreciate the flavor that can be offered from the belly...
But in all seriousness.....what exactly is this "Turkey Bacon" you are referring to? Turkey's don't have bacon...do they?0 -
Bacon nachos.. it will happen!
Myself and the rest of the kitchen staff at a bar I worked for came up with Bacon Hot Dog Nachos. Dice the bacon, slice kosher hot dogs into thin circles, cover it all with the rest of the obligatory nacho ****. Enjoy with bourbon.
///probably the whole reason I'm on MFP in the first place... working in bars and eating crap like that.
//would do it again in a heartbeat.0 -

I need to say this....
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, EATING MY BACON!!!!
Thank you....0 -
If you're gonna be a monkey, be a mother****ing gorilla. Don't get some namby-pamby, half-assed 70-calorie flavorless treebark tofurkey bacon. Go and get the extra-thick, sodium-dripping maple-syrup covered slab of fat and grease, illest most lumberjack-style bacon you can find. The 250 calories per slice variety. Eat that ****. Savor that ****. Make it count.
Then bust your *kitten* in the gym until you pass out. Bacon calories go b-bye.
HAHAHA I like this guy.
Yup, this totally made my day!!0 -
everything in moderation...nothing is off limits0

My first suggestion would be if you want bacon, eat BACON....not funky turkey things designed to look like bacon. Eat REAL BACON or no bacon at all!! As for suggestions, I like the Wright Thick Cut Applewood smoked bacon.....but really, I'll eat any bacon as long as it's not the turkey crap.0
-
I want bacon. Like.. really bad.
I eat LOTS of bacon, and lose wieght!! Real bacon, not that turkey crap! YUM!!!
EAT MORE BACON=LOSE MORE WEIGHT0 -
I don't eat pork or beef, so I eat the tree bark textured turkey bacon, and I will eat it daily in Jesus name...Amen.0
-
Center Cut bacon! Pretty low in cals like everyone has mentioned & way better than that turkey bacon crap ;p0
