Hi

Decided to join up for this site on the advice of my hubby who was told about it at work. We are both determined (yet again) to lose weight. Joined up here on Sunday and have been following our own diet plan since then. Since I've already tried WW and a meal replacement plan (very successful at the time but put it all back on again after binging on crisps!), I decided to stop throwing money away and try our own way along with hubby joining a permanent weight loss programme provided by his employer. So we are using this site to log all the food we eat, exercise we do and receiving the advice on cognitive behaviour too. Hopefully this time, if we manage to change the way we think about food it might work long term.

So far, using this and following pretty much a low GI eating plan I have managed to lose 5lbs since Sunday, so here's to keeping it going. I know only too well that if I don't chanage the way I think it will all be for nothing.

Looking forward to gaining some diet buddies too :o)

Welcome to MFP...I'm also rather new....well I used it for a while a few months back but then stopped. Since then I've decided to give it another try as a means of REALLY looking at what I eat daily. Its real easy to not pay attention to what you're putting in your mouth when you're not logging it daily.

Congrats on the 5lbs weight loss...that terrific.

Thanks guys. I lost 28lbs in two months two years ago using a meal replacement diet plan which was fantastic at the time, but then totally lost it and started eating all the food which had caused the problems in the first place! So this time have decided to do it the good, old fashioned way - eat healthy, nutritious food and get my (rather large) butt down the gym ;o) Tonight I am finding it a bit hard because it's only me and my youngest in the house and when I get bored I usually want to eat!! Going to get tidied up from dinner and put youngest to bed then do some crunches rather than mooch around the kitchen lol

At the moment i want to get about 70lbs off, then see how I feel. Also would be great to fit back into the wardrobe full of clothes which I bought two years ago!!

Looking forward to keeping each other going with this
