Best VFF alternative?

Hi, I would like to get opinions on the best alternative to Five Fingers. I am looking for a good minimalist shoe. I currently use Nike Free but would like something that is even more minimalist. I can't wear Vibram's so am looking for the closest alternative. I have been eyeing Merrell Pace Glove and New Balance Minimus. If anyone has any experience with either shoe or knows of other good alternatives I would appreciate your opinion so I know the best one to buy

I have the Merrell Pace Gloves. I find them absolutely awesome. I tried them on and fell in love them on the spot. I will never buy another pair of cross trainers again! They are a great alternative to the Vibrams.

I can't say enough good things about the NB Trail Minimus. Have never tried the road version.
