I so easily go over on my fat, but I run so I'm trying to get more carbs and protein.

What are some good snacks with no or little fat but more carbs and protein (and of course still low cal)???

Jello, low fat yogurt. for more carbs you could eat starchy veggies, like carrots, corn, peas and so on or fruits like bananas. As for protien I really don't know how to up that without adding to your fat intake too. Nuts have lots of protien but also fats although they are good fats.

baked potato (plain) is loaded with carbs. Cereal and oatmeal with skim milk. Low-fat yogurt, fresh or frozen fruit, skim milk and whey protein shake. Lots of raw veggies and fruits. Toasted whole wheat bagel with honey. Pasta sprayed with butter Pam and tossed with steamed veggies and a sprinkle of parmesan. Several ideas...Good luck!

Thanks! I pretty much all ready knew most of this...I was just hoping for some fresh ideas. But I'm good for now. Thanks! I love making sweet potato fries and sprinkling parm cheese on them...maybe I'll do that. I haven't done that in awhile.

Jello is very good. Also, how about some brown rice cakes?

Maybe you should skip the parm cheese. I could be way off base, but sprinkles of cheese may be what you want to avoid. Do you find that your fat grams add up quickly as the result of eating a few servings of very high fat foods or many smaller items with a high concentration of fat (e.g. butter on this, cheese on that). I'd take a closer look at your "pattern" of eating fat throughout the day and see if you can figure out where to make cuts earlier in the day so you don't need a fat-free dinner to stay balanced.

That's a good idea..instead of parm how about putting a little cinnamon on the sweet potato fries and using them like a dessert?

    True. That sounds good too!

I usually...I really am not eating a lot of things with fat in them, but it seems that the fat grams add up so fast!

My weakness is kettle corn. Love it for a snack - the full out stuff. Not a lot of calories, but a lot of fat! I had some last night, but I'm not gonna tonight. :)

My favorite one is frozen grapes... I take them off the stem...rinse them under cold water...and put them in snack size bags....:flowerforyou:

    Oh! Hahahaha.

forgot I let myself splurge on a cinnamin scone this morning.

I haven't been eating much...I can't lose anymore weight...and my appetite is finally (mostly) back, so I decided to splurge. Now I'm trying to stay within my counts regardless of that splurge. Maybe, since I'm calling it a "splurge" I shouldn't freak out too much if I go a bit over on anything.
