I haven't used Alli but I've heard several people say "don't dare go too far from the bathroom". Somehow this doesn't sound like a great idea for weight reduction.

Hi and welcome!!! I have used Alli and Xenical (before it became OTC as Alli) and it works, primarily if you have alot of fat intake. For example, when we were on vacation and made some poor choices at the buffet, it helped (it is true though that the fat comes out as orange oily like substance) but if you're making good food choices anyway, it may be a waste of your money. Good luck, this place is great for motivation and a wealth of knowledge!:flowerforyou:0

My mother in law tried this and she said it doesn't work very good but then she said well that's probably because she had gone on a diet and wasn't eating a lot of fat and the purpose of it is to take the fat out. My father in law apparently ate more fat and it was said that you can't be far at all from the bathroom. So ultimatly it does work if your eating a lot of fat just like another poster on here said but you do need to stay close to a restroom.:sick:0

i don't get it. i've been taking it and have never needed to stay close the the bathroom. all you have to do is stick within the 15 to 16 fat gram range and you'll be fine. i've lost 8 pounds in less than 2 weeks and i love it!0

but the point of it is to prevent some fat absorption. I'd bet money it had nothing to do with you losing weight, and that it was eating less fat (and probably less calories that did it :flowerforyou:
If you eat to much fat you'll have orange gunk running down your legs  ew0 -
I never had that problem - it worked good for me - it gave me a boost.
I think a lot of the negative things either come from people who haven't tried it or folks that take it and go eat a dozen chicken wings and pizza.
Um yes you are going to have orange stuff running down your legs, ask my Husband LOL0
