I know this isn't the official cast from the official movie, but I found this video of Katniss and Rue on YouTube, and I seriously just cried.

I liked the first book, the second one was ok but the 3rd left me really disapointed. I had the feeling that katniss was never able to find her own voice and was just reacting to the story and those plotting around her.

If you liked the hunger games I strongly suggest reading Divergent from Veronica Roth.

Divergent was good though I like Hunger Games better.

I'll have to look into Divergent. I'm really looking for books that are similar to Collin's writing style (first person perspective) -[as I loved being in Katniss' head] and something similar in genre. If anyone has any reccomendations, Tell me a mini synopsis, and I'll love you forever!

    Divergent

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Enclave (another one that I really loved)

WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE In Deuce’s world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years. By that point, each unnamed ‘brat’ has trained into one of three groups-Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms. Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.

As a Huntress, her purpose is clear–to brave the dangerous tunnels outside the enclave and bring back meat to feed the group while evading ferocious monsters known as Freaks. She’s worked toward this goal her whole life, and nothing’s going to stop her, not even a beautiful, brooding Hunter named Fade. When the mysterious boy becomes her partner, Deuce’s troubles are just beginning.

Down below, deviation from the rules is punished swiftly and harshly, and Fade doesn’t like following orders. At first she thinks he’s crazy, but as death stalks their sanctuary, and it becomes clear the elders don’t always know best, Deuce wonders if Fade might be telling the truth. Her partner confuses her; she’s never known a boy like him before, as prone to touching her gently as using his knives with feral grace.

As Deuce’s perception shifts, so does the balance in the constant battle for survival. The mindless Freaks, once considered a threat only due to their sheer numbers, show signs of cunning and strategy… but the elders refuse to heed any warnings. Despite imminent disaster, the enclave puts their faith in strictures and sacrifice instead. No matter how she tries, Deuce cannot stem the dark tide that carries her far from the only world she’s ever known.

I felt the same way. Loved the first book until it started to jump the shark at the end a bit. Read the second which was ok. Counted down the days for the 3rd to be delivered to my Kindle and just about cried from disappointment. I'm a chronic book series re-reader (re-read the first two 3 times at least waiting for the 3rd) and I was so heartbroken over the 3rd I haven't gone back to it. *shrug* Maybe in time I can give it another chance.

I'll have to check out Divergent. :)

Seriously, I totally reccomend The Girl Who Was On Fire. I know I've said it multiple times, but it really does take a deeper look at the Hunger Games, the plot, the subplots... and I felt more at ease after reading this as I was disappointed how the 3rd had such an... abrupt ending almost. Do you think Collin's did that in the event she wanted a sequel?
