Everyone is always looking for high protein shakes, I'm fine in that department, I really need to watch my fiber. Does anyone have anay favorite products or recipes for high fiber protein shakes besides the "green shake" with fresh spinach?

I like BSN Synth-6, it's high in protein and 5g of fiber.

I don't know of any shakes, but 1/2 cup of pure pumpkin is 5g of fiber.

You could always get a fiber supplement, like psyllium, and add it to your shakes.

the stuff is almost pure fiber. put a spoon of that in your protein shake and you'll have all you need.
  • Just add some flaxseed meal to your shake.

BTDT with the psyllium and the flax seed, it works for a while, but I got to a point where my body got used to everything I was doing and i need to shake things up a bit.

Also, I should add, my shakes had mostly been yogurt, ice, fruit with a little flax and maybe wheat germ tossed in.

I went looking at protein shakes over the weekend and I was amazed how few of them actually have fiber in them. Sure they have 25g of protein, but 0g fiber. GAH! I found GNC Lean Shakes have 8g of fiber. I wish they had trial packages instead of $30 for a huge container. Jillian Michael's Natural Whey Powder has 3g of fiber, but it came in a smaller container for $10. I figure I'll try that and see how it goes. My "idea" is to follow the directions on the package and make the shake - possibly with almond milk - then blend in a baby banana and some frozen strawberries. We'll see how that goes.

    Okay, I tried this today:

    1cup frozen strawberries
    1 mini banana
    6 oz almond milk
    1 scoop vanilla whey powder
blended in the magic bullet the whole thing just barely fits

It was so thick and yummy. Definitely a different taste than the vanilla yogurt but still good. I feel full after drinking it.
