Ok MFP people, question for you guys.

I made pulled pork sandwiches for dinner tonight. I used a pork lion roast which I measured & got the calories for. I also added a marinade sauce to cook it in when I threw it in the crock pot. My question is once I cook the meat & the marinade sauce how would I determine the prepared calories?
I guess this question could go for many foods you prepare...for some reason it just stuck out to me now.

Enter all the ingredients in as a recipe and put in how many servings it makes and it divides all the calories per serving for every item entered as one entry.

Cooking it does not change the total calories (unless you add something else, such as oil, in the process of cooking).

Use the recipe feature, for sure, enter all ingredients, decide how many servings the recipe makes and it will give you the calories based on the servings...ie my pretzel recipe makes 12 pretzels. All the ingredients total 2400 calories for a batch. So each pretzel is 200 calories.

I know that. But with the marinade packet I used it had a calorie count and it called for olive oil so I can get a count for those two added up but obviously I didn't consume that amount on my serving of pork so just wondering how it gets totaled out

Ok I've never used that! Thank you guys! I'll give it a go!

Exactly what wolf child said! Add the calories for the whole container of whatever food you add in so if it says 80 calories per serving and theres four servings then it's 320 total and once it's all together and prepared divide the amount of servings it goes by and make sure when you serve your self you actually eat what you consider one actual serving or whatever amount you choose to eat!

If you Google for similar recipe you would get an approximation. Else you can add what you have used as ingredients. Its little effort which can be saved for later too!
