Once again- .5 loss. Sometimes it's hard to be patient and I usually have a positive attitude. Self- it's better to loose slow so it will stay off and at least your loosing. JUST SAYING. MFP Family- Any other self motivators would be welcome!

At least you can be confident that the .5lb lose is 100% fat and not a combination of fat and muscle which can happen when people lose too fast......yahoo!0

I have been using myfitnesspal for about 3 1/2 weeks and lost 7 pounds and I am overjoyed but for the last week I go up and down by a pound or two on the scale. I am getting upset with myself. I need motivation!! Any great advice out there?0

I've gone weeks with nothing lost, so 1/2 lb. is a great success !! I only weigh in once a week officially, but I do peek sometimes. :blushing: It goes up and down all week , sometimes by 2 lbs. You just have a to accept that it's only a number and go by how wonderful you feel, the small victories each day....a workout, good food choice or drinking all your water. It's a great journey , stop to smell the roses on the way.
Good luck to you..you can do it :flowerforyou:0 -
It can be tough! I've had those days. And days when I've lost a lot in water weight and then gained some back and been disappointed at the numbers. Just stay motivated and in the end you'll be SOOO thankful that you stuck with it!0

Have you been weighing yourselves at the same time of day on the same day each time? The time of day can change your weight by up to a pound or even two!
If you're replacing your fat with muscle you'll be losing weight slower but getting healthier and toned.
Try measuring yourselves around the waist etc and see if this has changed as well, I've been 168lbs and a size 12 and 168lbs and a size 16, it depends on your muscle and fat or how 'toned' you are.
Hope that cheers you up0 -
sometimes I think my scale is possessed! I can fluctuate 2 - 3 pounds in a day! But if you are showing a steady .5lb that is awesome and a good healthy loss. I try not to weigh but one or twice a week because of fluctuations.0

Depending how long you've been on MFP and what you have your goals set up as, .5 lb loss /week is just right. Of course you can accelerate that with exercise and things like 30DS, but .5 loss is better than .5 gain! You may want to open up your diary if you haven't already so others can see it as well. I found that helps!0

I was stuck on a plateau for 1 month. When I did lose it was 1.5 pounds, now no loss again this week. My best advice that I have to give (to myself included)is "Keep on Keeping on". I have been doing this since February and have lost 30 pounds. That's 9 months. That comes out to only a little over 3 pounds a month. I feel like I am developing some good eating and exercise habits and it will all pay off one day. My main goal is a healthier and stronger body and I know I am achieving that goal. This is a new lifestyle for me, not just a diet that I can go off of one day.0

Thanks everyone. I do weigh myself everymorning at the same time. I think I will try just weighing myself twice a week and measuring myself and see how that goes.
Its great to have this support.0 -
Thanks everyone! I've been on MFP since May 2011 and have lost 16#. (minus the time spent in a walking boot). I do Zumba twice a week and walk twice a week and try to follow a low carb diet because of blood sugar issues. I really appreciate your comments- it truly does help! have a great Thursday! and...Friends are welcome.0
