I am fairly new to MFP and just discovered that you can get the nutritional information on line for just about any chain restaurant. If you are planning on eating out, check them out ahead of time! I have printed the ones for TGI Fridays and Houlihan's and HOLY COW!!!!! But........knowledge is power so I checked everything out and made my decision before I ever got there. Any other plan ahead ideas out there??

CalorieKing.com has a GREAT pocket book for when you are out on the road.. They also have a free website to use for both regular foods and name brand foods - ALSO restaurants as well!

I will only dine in places where they are happy to accomodate food-related issues.... and where the food is extremely fresh. I have no problem dropping $50.00 for lunch if I know its high quality and I can order it the way I need to have it...

I printed out the PDF's for Ruby Tuesday, Bob Evans and IHOP. They each have a few healthy, (for a restaurant) choices and Ruby's has a salad bar. If you have a smart phone, the Figwee ap is useful.
I fill in my food diary with the other meals first, so I know how many calories I have available to eat out. I can also plan how much time I need to spend on that elliptical.

Planning ahead is the only way - and don't drink too much or you'll throw your plan out the window! I had two huge meals out last week but had a very light lunch and did some exercise so I still managed to lose a little bit of weight.
