"Diet Break"

So I've been reading(The Full Diet Break) that if you have hit a plateau, you should take a 2 week break from your diet (go to maintenance) and then get back on the diet to see more weight loss. Has anyone tried this? Although I'd like to lose 10 more lbs, I'm not in any big hurry to reach my goal. In fact, I have until the end of January to lose the weight.That gives me 3 months, and since I lost 12 lbs in my first 2 1/2 months on MFP...I think I can make it. Let me hear your success stories or not so successful stories of "taking a diet break."

I should explain that my reason for doing this is to avoid frustration that explodes into a binge...which I was heading for. It is so frustrating to be eating limited amounts of calories, exercising as much as your schedule allows and losing NOTHING for an ENTIRE month! So we'll see....
