Hi everyone!

I am about to make my super tasty chicken and dumpling recipe, but I have no celery! My question is: Would peas or broccoli taste better in it? (I was also thinking about taking out the mushrooms and putting both peas and broccoli in...?)

Thanks

Here is the recipe if it helps any: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/208179-chicken-and-dumpling-soup-richard-simmons

    Why not all three?

I didn't now how that would taste... Do mushrooms, peas and broccoli taste good together?

I'm not sure I'd like peas and broccoli in the same dish, but mushrooms would probably be good with either.

    I think so.

To answer your question though, broccoli is a better replacement for celery than peas. If you really want to go a bit further, just use the stalks. You can cut off the bottom halves of the stalks for the soup and use the top for something else.

I would do all three though, I'm a more is more kind of guy when it comes to veggies in soup.

Thanks for everyone's help... I ended up using peas, but if all goes well I will try broccoli next time too. That's enough variation for one night
