I'm fairly new to the whole active exercising lifestyle. I'm really loving it so far but my body hates me for it. lol.

Is there anything I can do to shorten the recovery time needed for my muscles? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It takes time. Recovery is just as important as being active.

My body hated me during the first month of exercise. Ice, Advil, and elevation were my good friends. But if you stick with it, the pain goes away.

In early July, I would be in terrible pain after a 1 hour walk. Now I can run an hour and feel fine afterwards, and I ran 8 miles on Saturday and the soreness lasted less than 24 hours.

It just takes time for your body to adjust to exercise. The benefits are worth the price of pain you will pay at the beginning.

Eat and sleep well. Your body will adapt to the work load pretty quickly.
