two dinners

So generally I wake up in the early afternoon and whatever I eat before work I log as lunch because I don't have a lot of breakfast foods. Today I went out and bought actual breakfast food for tomorrow but that's a different story.

The thing is, because I sleep so late I technically have two dinners. I have the lunch when I wake up, a dinner around 7:30pm, and another dinner around 11:30pm; 3 meals a day. I usually go to bed around 3am [sue me i'm 20] so technically I'm not eating late but I still feel guilty when I eat a late night meal.

Does anyone else eat their three regular meals late like this? I just want to feel like I'm not completely alone so I can stop feeling guilty about this.

I eat 16 times a day. Whatever works!

The Primary Laws of Nutrient Timing
The First Law of Nutrient Timing is: hitting your daily macronutrient targets is FAR more important than nutrient timing.
The Second Law of Nutrient Timing is: hitting your daily macronutrient targets is FAR more important than nutrient timing.

I don't think there's any reason to feel guilty about it. Your schedule is just off the norm.

I worked evenings so my schedule was like that for a long time. I lost weight doing it that way. I had "breakfast" when I got up which was around noon. I would eat a small snack around 3 and then have "lunch" around 6 and then another snack around 9 and then a small meal around 11:30 or 12. I tried to keep my last meal under a few hundred calories. You have to do what works best for you.

i sure don't (i'm way older, a Mom, and a morning person), but my husband sure wishes he still could. he is a night owl and loves night/hates morning. he also loves 'meals'. you should be fine in regards to what you are doing. it doesn't matter that you aren't eating 'breakfast foods'... i hardly ever do - don't really care for them. your body doesn't really define your meals like this either. food is energy/nutrition.

you seem to have your own body clock pretty set, so just go with it. watch your intake/macros/exercise habits and go from there.

^ This. Hit your daily cals/macros and disregard meal timing. Eat it all at once in bed right before your head hits the pillow, or be like dude a few posts up and eat 16 times per day. It won't have any metabolic effects.

You should structure your meals around:
    1) Lifestyle/personal preference
    2) Optimal gym performance.

Hopefully 1) and 2) coincide with the same schedule.

I'm just about on the same schedule as you. My breakfast is usually around noon or 1pm and then i eat every 2/3 hours after that. Do what's best for you and your body because if you were forcing yourself to wake up early just to eat breakfast you wouldn't reap any benefits except stressing your body.

I'm pretty much on the same schedule. I'm a stay at home mom & I live around my 16 month old's schedule (except I have insomnia so I usually go to sleep around 4am & wake up around noon). Hasn't bothered my weight loss as long as I stay within my calories.

My meal times are usually around 3-4pm, 11pm and 7am. Works for me.
