Hi all, this has nothing to do with weigh loss, I just need to let off some steam, ok my husband is a mechanic and during the winter months, he really does not make much money!!!!! Well I have a mortage with Green tree and let me tell you I wish I could drive to Baton Rouge and whoop some A**!!!!! They are so hateful and mean, I owe for 43 days and this women proceeds to call me and tell me that if I don't pay my bill by this date that I have to get my *kitten* out of the house and find someone else to live!!!!!!! Plus I told her that I was doing what I could to stay a float and would pay it by the end of the month and it was hard to provide for my kids much less pay all my bills, she said that I did not care about my kids!!!! :noway: OMG I went off on her!!!!!!!!! I told her that she crossed the line and that I did not care if I had to get a second job that I was paying that dang house off and when I do I was personally coming to Baton Rouge to "give" her payment!!!!! OMG people should not be allowed to talk to customers that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am so upset, and I was in a good mood!!!!!

I use to be a bill collector.
I was a nice one.
It's why the job sucked the soul out of me and I burned out before 1.5 years.


Once you talk to someone, actually acknowledge who you are, and especially if you've told them an approximate date you will make a payment, or given a reason why you are behind....

HANG UP.

I'm not saying to hang up on all of them. Just the mean ones. But most effective bill collectors are downright hateful. I use to hear my friends on the phones collecting and I'd cringe.

They can only make contact once a day with you. If they do not make contact, they can call all day long. They can call daily but can only speak with you once. After that, they must cease contact or it would be considered harrassment.

So the next time someone starts to get an attitude with you, immediately say your piece.... "I AM LATE BECAUSE OF X REASON AND I INTEND TO HAVE PAYMENT THERE BY THIS DATE, or I KNOW I AM LATE BUT WE HAVE NO MONEY AND I DO NOT KNOW WHEN I WILL BE ABLE TO PAY." (Talk over them as loudly as you need to, it doesn't matter if they keep jabbering.) Then hang up.

Don't let them get to you.

(I know it doesn't help much, but I would become a little hateful after a long day because of the sheer number of times I was hung up on and cussed out. But I still refused to be mean to anyone on the phone because people don't just NOT pay bills for the sheer joy fun of it!)

Call and ask to speak to her supervisor. Tell them what their employee is like.

I am in collections ( please don't throuw tomatoes) and I would never speak to anybody like that.

Trust me...there are too many houses up for sale. 45 days will NOT cause you to lose your home. Your rep was too overzealous and should eb reported to the supervisor.
