How often do you weigh?

I've been weighing daily for the last couple of weeks (before that I just weighed every once in a while when I was at the doctor or something....denile. Haha). It's kind of discouraging when I drop a good amount of weight and then almost every day now, there's very little, sometimes no change from day to day. Should it be only once a week weighins?

I, personally, only weigh once a week... Your weight fluctuates from day to day and I would drive myself crazy if I did it every day But to each their own. Do what works for YOU and you can't go wrong!0

Completely up to you. I weigh once a day because I like the accountability of thinking each day, "uh oh, better not eat that, have to get on the scale tomorrow". I stay very aware of water weight fluctuations so that they don't drive me crazy (did I eat a lot of sodium yesterday? is my TOM here or on its way?). Others find a weekly weigh-in more satisfy because if you're doing it right, you'll almost always see a loss and won't really have to think about or deal with natural fluctuations as much. For me, that was too stressful... I literally could not sleep from the anxiety the night before my weigh-in when I was only doing it once a week.
So, it's your call! Try different things and see what works for you :flowerforyou:0 -

I weigh every day b/c it me stay on track. It's too frustrating for some people though.0 -
Thanks for the responses. I think I'll stick with weighing in every day for now. I tend to procrastinate and I think if I moved it to only once a week, I'd be tempted to "eat now, worry later" and would get discouraged and give up. Maybe my weight won't fluctuate so much after I get a good amount of the weight off.0

I weigh once a week and have always thought this was the recommended time frame. As I see this question asked I see many weigh daily and for most of them it works. I would get too caught up in the daily numbers. It would be great if a scale would let you weigh daily and show your last 7 averages that would be nice.0

For awhile I weighed once a week, but now that my losses are smaller each week I usually only weigh in once every two or three weeks. I know my losses won't pick up until I readjust to a cold weather menu, if you will.0

I weigh every day, log once a week. I was only weiging once a week, but then I got discouraged when I didn't lose one week, only to find the next week I had lost double. It's that daily fluctuation thing - I was just extra-heavy one Saturday.0

This is totally me, too. I like the accountability each day. Just don't expect to lose weight each and every day or you'll get discouraged. Since weight fluctuates, sometimes I'll be up on my official weigh day - but if I've noticed the scales going down, I don't feel too bad. Good luck!0
