Just starting back out

And I'm a bit concerned because of how much weight I have put on but also because of the condition of my knees. I am going to be doing personal training sessions and I know what I should and shouldn't do as far as hurting myself, but it is still unnerving. Does anyone have any suggestions maybe of what I can do to kick start my workout routine without hurting my knees so much that I won't be able to continue?
