Behind the knee pain.

Options
Well long story short, the muscle in the pain of my knee is in agony. I can't take a step without it hurting. I was stupid and worked out earlier even though it hurt a little and now it hurts a lot. So does anyone know how i can make it stop hurting? Thanks alot!

Is the pain acute? Meaning a stabbing pain with each step? If it is you definitely need to have it looked at.

As someone with a heap of knee problems going on something like 6 dislocations (once I even did both at one time) - ice it - don't do heat unless your doctor/PT tells you too. Take an anti-inflammatory like Advil and rest it... make sure you are wearing good supportive shoes ( I had to give up my high heels! Things like flip flops are also bad). It the pain is acute or you feel like you are doing more damage when walking go to a doctor immediately, don't waste your time going to your GP, but call them and have them recommend a specialist for you. Outside of that - call a physical therapist today!! They have gotten me better so many times. They are the experts on what to do and what not to do - but you have to listen to them and follow their directions. Good luck!!

It isn't stabbing. Like i can still walk, it just hurts. When i go to straighten it is when it hurts. Bending isn't a problem.

Thanks for all the help. I'm staying off of it for tonight, and am icing it and taking a anti inflammatory. If it still hurts tomorrow i'll call my doctor.

Then it's probably a sprain or mild strain. Don't work it until it's fully healed or you could reinjure it.
