Anyone with experience in HIIT cycling? I need some help.

I am wiped out for hours after a high intensity cycling session. Any advice is appreciated if you have done interval cycling.

I think it is too intense, but I have no experience with this. I am out of shape for cycling or anything else. I have been working out and seeing some progress and would like to add high intensity interval cycling for over the winter. This is the hiit training I am trying, only 2 times per week:

Recumbent stationary bike (Well, not fully recumbent but that's what the gym has)
- 3 minutes; over 100 rpm, decent resistance, "hills" intermittently
- at 2:45, max rpm for 15 seconds, try for 140 rpm
- rest for 1 minute
- repeat 3 times.
- 2 times per week
- Other workouts throughout the week.

I would add more resistance and less rpm.

'K, I'll up the resistance. I won't let the rpms drop below 90, that is too easy.

Geez, and a few months ago I was struggling to keep it at 80.
