Hi, my name is Lawrie and I've been using MFP for a week and I am amazed at just how truely helpful it has been.
To be honest I don't follow any rules, I just make sure that I keep within my daily target, and it feels good! My aim is to lose weight but still be able to enjoy the foods i eat.
I've set my target to 2lbs a week and already i've lost 6lbs in the 1st, I know , the 1st week is all water, but man it still feels great.
For all those out there still trying fad diets, STOP! they don't work! They are great for a few weeks but they get boring and as soon as you stop, the weight piles back on!
The only way to lose weight is by cutting the calories, about 500 less than the recommended daily for 1lb loss a week.
I'm looking to lose a total of 88lbs thats 44 weeks or 11 months, wish me luck!

dont get downhearted when you dont lose that much each week though, it will slow down, but that isn't a bad thing0 -
Congratulations on the success! Hope it continues (as it has for me). I Joined MFP just recently, set my target to 1.5 lbs/week. After 3 weeks I've lost exactly 4 lbs0
