Hello everyone! I was having a hard time getting motivated to lose weight after my 6th child was born in February. i went to my doctor mid August to ask for help. he told me I couldn't lose the weight I need to lose with out being hungry all the time and exercising excessively. He suggested I have some type of bariatric surgery:( Nothing motivates me like that "C" word. So it has been about 2 1/2 months and my goal is to prove him wrong! I have just under a year until I see him again for an annual blood work up and I would like to thoroughly amaze him with my progress!

What kind of idiot dr did you go to?!?!? I'm not a fan of dr's as it is, but geeze ~ think I'd have to find a new one.

Great that you've decided to drop the weight anyway. You wont have to be hungry but you will have to exercise :) I've found tho that I like it, I have more energy and feel better when I go to the gym. Total surprise to me LMAO all my life I've resisted, now I wish I'd started sooner :)

Welcome! I had my nineth baby in March, and have also had trouble losing weight. I actually GAINED weight after he was born. Slow and steady wins the race. Feel free to add me!

Your doctor sounds like he's looking for a way to fund his next vacation at your and your insurance companies expense. I have to agree with Tegan only I'm a bit more blunt. Doc would get a WTH and maybe a WTF!

Righr now concentrate on your health. I find that I use the food diary of MFP and I have been doing this since March 2011. I have lost 16 pounds and I am not on a "diet", I do divide my calories between three meals and if I have snacks I usually have an orange or an apple. I do like the hot chocolate drink mix w/o sugar. A warm cup of hot chocolate can chase away the craving for other sweet things. I do have a mug of warm V-8 (low sodium) vegetable juice in the afternoon if hungry. With 6 children I bet you are getting plenty of exercise just keeping ahead of all the things you do to keep the family care for. My family is grown-up, which makes my situation much different than you with your young family, so I use my treadmill when the weather is getting cold and most of our yard work is done for the winter. Try not to be impatient with your progress, as long as the pounds are coming off, no matter how slowly, you will be successful. If you try to think of the whole amount of weight you wish to lose it will tend to be overwhelming and discouraging. Good luck with your program. fg

Show him what you got! i had my second daughter last march and my husband said i couldn't lose the weight by the time i needed to (i had to make army standards in 6 . it was about three months after having her and my husband was like" maybe you need to do more... maybe you need to try that HCG stuff so you can drop the weight and inches fast'. not that he didn't support me or think i could lose the weight, he was worried about the time constraint and being within army standards and still be eligible for promotion. i showed him, though! passed my PT test 4 months after having her and although i didn't make my weight, my body fat % was below what i was authorized so i was happy. i still need to lose more weight, but i am within standards and the weight is still coming off... slowly but surely. i've only lost about 10lbs since last year, but it's a lot easer to maintain the weight i'm at and lose a little bit over a longer period of time.

do what you got to do and have the determination to stick with it... but it already sounds like you do!! AWESOME!!!!
