Thanksgiving dinner

When I go home for Thanksgiving break I'm in charge of dinner for my family of three!
I've never done this before so I'm really excited!
Are there any special ways you cook your turkey?
Certain seasonings or herbs, etc?

SO DELICIOUS! It is actually easy, too, just a bunch of prep and then basting for the last 45 minutes or whatever the recipe calls for. Have made it this way two years in a row.
Make sure to use fresh herbs. It makes all the difference!0 -
I cover my turkey in bacon and then roast it. Not only does it keep the meat moist, but it also helps appeal to picky eaters! Sooo not healthy though :happy:0

I roast mine breast side down except for the last 30 minutes or so. Breast meat comes out CRAZY moist and super yummy.0

The best I ever had was when my husband brined the turkey by using approximately 1 cup of kosher salt and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Use enough water to a level approximately 3" above the turkey and brine for at least 6 hours. This process draws the solution into the turkey and provides for moist and flavorful meat. Make sure that you place your turkey in the refrigerator during the brining process. If the turkey is too large to place in the refrigerator, use at least 5lbs of ice and increase the salt to 1 1/3 cup. We use a large gumbo pot and place it on our kitchen counter. Also make sure to place a towel under the pot to catch condensation, or just use a small cooler.0
