So question, I went shopping the other day and I picked up some soup on sale. It's getting cold here, and it's going to be a really busy week for me so I wanted to get something quick and filling. I picked up a few cans. Anyways, the calories on the back of the can, do they include the milk that you add to complete the soup? Or should the milk be logged as well?

Unless it says about the milk, I'd say it only counts what is actually in the can. So you would need to add the milk calories on top.

Ok, that's what I thought. And that's what I did. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Interesting...I know that on cereal boxes it gives you the calories of dry cereal vs. cereal w/ skim milk. I wonder why it's not that way on soup. But I would agree that it's probably only the calories of what's on the can!
