    I catch my own. I love going batting with my family. Fresh air, exercise and a freezer full of bat meat.

    Most people harvest their own. You will need a large net suspended between two poles, and bat bait.

    We don't have fruit bats here. Will other types of bats do?

    Vampire bats are a good substitution for fruit bats.. Although it does bump up the calorie content a smidge.
