Keeps you full and helps your bm's
  • Fibre is the indigestible portion of plant foods. Keeps your digestive tract regular, and keeps you full, therefore you eat less, and lose more weight.
  • basicly... fiber helps you go poo.

it helps you stay regular, if you're backed up that makes you bloated and heavier.

There are two types of fiber, Insoluble and soluble.

Insoluble fiber found in wheat bran, nuts, and vegetables. Its structure is thick and rough, and it will not dissolve in water, so it zips through your digestive tract. Soluble fiber found in barley, beans, oats, and some fruits. It dissolves in water to form a gel-like material in your digestive tract. This allows it to slow the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream.

Fiber can help you LOSE Weight

Fiber requires extra chewing and slows the absorption of nutrients in y our gut, so your body is tricked into thinking you’ve eaten enough, says review author Joanne Slavin, Ph.D , R.D.(for fact hounds, lol). Some fibers may also stimulate CCK, an appetite-suppressing hormone in the gut.

    Supplemental Fiber is Healthy

Foods with added fiber do not necessarily provide the benefits you might expect. Inulin, is a soluble fiber extracted from chicory root, can be found in products like Fiber 1 bars. Inulin known as a probiotics, which means it promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in your gut. In addition, that is good, of course. “But, says Slavin, “Inulin doesn’t have the same cholesterol-lowering effect as the fiber found in oat bran.

  • Yes, primarily fiber helps with moving food through your digestive system. But it also helps lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels. This is important for anyone with or at risk of diabetes. Also high fiber foods tend to give you more time chewing your food which helps give your stomach time to start feeling full and help prevent you from overeating and because insoluble fiber does not break down very easily in your digestive system it also helps you feel full longer and curbs cravings. Also there have been some studies that indicate a high fiber diet may help prevent certain types of cancer.

Awesome! thanks for posting this. I just wanted to point out that inulin affects people differently, I for example get tummy pains, bloating and gas when I ingests inulin. So I gotta read labels carefully.
  • FIber helps us feel full faster and for longer. So high fiber foods keep us less hungry. Also on the up side they help prevent constipation.
  • All really good info here!!! I use chia seeds as part of my fiber intake. It is also a great source of omega three oil! Google chia seeds and you will see all of the health benefits.
