:drinker: People are passionate about their food. You see it on here all the time.0

Rude and kind of stupid to think that would get you to cross over to the veg side. He sounds like an idiot.0
-
See..that would be a hard on for me cause i hate when people wont leave stuff alone.. You handled it wayy better than I would have. People like that aggrivate me..Good job0

I would have told him my dream is to work for Lady Gaga just so I could maybe borrow her meat dress sometime.. :bigsmile:0

It really angers me when people can't respect other people's choices. I think it's absolutely awful when people consider the other option the wrong option. There is no right or wrong. There are arguments for and against eating meat, both valid, and ultimately it is personal choice and you should not have to justify it to anyone. Much like any other lifestyle choice people choose to make. I just wish some people could learn to be more accepting of each other's differences.
Sounds like you handled him really well though, walking away was definitely the best thing to do! The last thing you'd want to do would be to stoop to his level.0 -
W@W those guys sounded crazy O___o Im sorry you had to go through that~!
I think you handled it very maturely btw

There are zealots everywhere........I think you should have held him down and spoon-fed him from your plate, but that's just me.
But you seem like a nice guy, so I guess you wouldn't have really wanted to start a fight by saying that you suppose sexy time must be really boring if his wife doesn't like meat.0 -
I of course don't know this couple at all. But I can guarantee you they don't have many friends, the wife hates her husband and is sleeping around on him. With a guy who eats meat.0

Did he happen to have a leather belt & shoes on? A leather wallet in his pocket? Or was it natural polyvinyl?0
-
I would have picked apart his food as well. Potato salad has eggs in it, what were the chips cooked in? Did he eat jello? Cake? Cookies? Pudding? Made with animal parts. Unless your vegan, 70% of what you eat means that a animal has some part in what your eating.0
-
It never ceases to amaze me how some people will pick a fight over anything. He would have had a cow. pardon the pun, if he would have seen my nearly raw steak I ate tonight!0
-
Aren't self-righteous people fun?! Haha. I am a carnivore. For sure. and my very best friend is a hardcore vegan... only she's the normal kind that doesn't judge. She even has shared recipes with me that I can adapt to include meat, and vice versa.
I have a feeling if you'd been wearing a fur coat this guy would've thrown red paint on you.0 -
Interesting how these people are so worried about animals but have no problem insulting people they just met or making scenes at parties. This kind of disregard for humanity is grounded in self-hate, IMO.0

This thread reminds me of a joke:
How do you know who is a vegetarian at a party?
Don't worry. They will be sure to let you know.
It's funny because it's true.0 -
I would have made moaning sounds and chew with my mouth open for him, maybe even slather some bbq sauce all around my lips. Then when I finished I'd go get more just because. Maybe even just let the plate of seconds sit there on the table
He tried to make you feel uncomortable, I'd hit right back without saying a word.0 -
I'm a strong supporter of P.E.T.A. (People Eating Tasty Animals).
Seriously though...what a jerk! I respect people's choices to eat however they want, but when they have to push their ideals down everyone else's throats, then I have a problem with it!0 -
Vegetarians should be grateful that there are meat eaters around to continue the existence of farm animals.
Grr there so stupid it angers me!!
WOW
*facepalm*
Well obviously they would still be alive for dairy.. etc..
but i mean things like pigs..
if we didnt eat meat then they would have no reason to be bred.
I'm not a vegetarian, but this goes into a whole different debate on breeding and mass production of animals for consumption and the treatment of those animals including hormone injections and the type of breeding performed. In the right hands this is a really good argument for not eating meat and supporting the meat industry, not a good argument for eating meat.
edited for clarification0 -
I would have bowed my head in prayer again and thanked the cow for giving his life so I could eat it. :bigsmile:0

I only eat beef that have committed suicide or died accidentally. The world has always been full of overbearing people wanting to shove their views down another's throat. Think The Crusades. I bet they drove a Prius too.
Bahaha - the Prius bit made actually LOL at my desk. :laugh:0
