Round or Square?

So, at the moment, I have no scale. Digital one broke. (btw...if anyone can suggest a good scale i'm all ears. and dig vs old school)
I have noticed that at one point I rounded up cals. I think that worked better, where as lately, in rationalizing to myself or try to feel better, I might under guess. I think rounding up went better. The safe zone kept me under my cal limit for sure. Where as now I can't swear on a bible that I am.
SO.. do you suggest, even with a scale, rounding up for a safety stay under zone, or square off exact cal intake as precise as possible?

There is nothing square about anal.
If I can't get an exact count, I always guesstimate on the high end, and it's been working for me.0 -
I definitely round up and assume I've eaten more than I think. In fact, not that I'm recommending this because I might be lynched, I try to eat 100 or so less than my goal. If I'm still hungry I'll eat something, but usually I'm not.0

I use the exact numbers.
In regards to the scale. I got this one after it was recommended by America's Test Kitchen and I've had it for many years. I absolutely love it. I can toggle between grams and ounces. It is a little expensive depending on your budget, but they also have a cheaper 5lb capacity model. This one has an 11lb capacity.

I try to err on the side of caution...so I round up.0

I love oxo stuff. i was not aware they had one! yay! i might try that one. thx.
and as for the round or square, i'm guessing it looks pretty divided. i do feel "safer" rounding up. but i sorta feel like i'm lieing to myself to. so i'm still confused as to what to do.0 -

No problem.
And even though I use exact numbers, I almost never eat my exact allotment for the day. I usually come up a 100 or so calories short so in a sense I'm still allowing for "rounding up" without actually doing it. Hehe0 -
