i am taking the kids trick or treating tonight from 6-8. we usually eat dinner around 6/6:30 and i try not to eat after 8 so i dont know what to do. I am worried that if i eat early say around 5 i will get hungry while we are out and i dont want to start eating candy. I also dont want to wait, get hungry while im out, and then not get to eat dinner until 8:30/9. what do you suggest?

Eat early and cut up an apple or something, put it in a baggie and carry it with you. Then you can nibble on that should you get hungry.

Great idea. Last year I made the mistake of waiting until we got back (and I have a teeny tot, so we came back pretty early) to start dinner. Everyone was starving and cranky and it was a disaster.

This year I am prepping as much as possible ahead of time and eating before we go out.

Def suggest bringing a snack. But I know there aren't too many calories in a fun size candy bar :) Are people taking their kids trick or treating tonight? I was planning on tmrw...
