So my lovely runners, I need help choosing my gear for this evening. It is 45-50 out and a nice light rain is falling. Rain jacket? extra layers? How does one deal with the rain?

A wind proof/waterproof shell is essential. You won't need much layering underneath because the temp is not that low. Maybe a technical/wicking shortsleeve shirt (or a long sleeve shirt if you only wear a vest instead of a full jacket).

Baseball cap to keep the rain out of your eyes.

I have a Brooks Nightlife rain/wind jacket that's top notch. Build your layers beneath it as necessary :)

I scored some cold gear under armor at TJ Maxx this month... it's been great for the 35-40 degree days I've been running in lately!

I have the cold gear pants that are fabulous and I wear a cold gear base layer with a fleece vest and mittens and of course my ball cap and sunglasses. I would love a wind breaker type jacket, hopefully soon.. keeping my eyes open! Oh, and a vest that fits, this one is from last year (and waaaayyy too big!)

Layers. I have a really nice breathable shell (north face)...its water & windproof with a mesh lining. If it's cold I will layer with long sleeve Ts or even a fleese. It also has a great hood that I can adjust to cling enough to my face so that it doesn't blow off and a little visor built in, but it also doesnt give me blind spot areas at the side.... Hard to describe, but it's awesome. Legs and feet will get wet, so have a hot shower at home after ;)

Here's a link. It's not specifically a running jacket, but you can get running jackets with the same Hy Vent technology.
