Happy Halloween! I can't believe we're on week 4 of our challenge together. How's everyone doing? Still going strong? The scale tricked me this morning but I knew it was coming after 4 very sedentary days with a sick toddler and then sick mommy. A loss is a loss though and at least the scale moved in the right direction.
I will be taking my daughter Trick or Treating tonight and hoping to put a mile or so on my shoes. Back to my daily walks, which boy did I miss them...4 days without my mile was actually miserable which is a surprising change for me!
What did everyone do this weekend? Any Halloween parties? We were supposed to have Trunk or Treat at our church on Saturday but snow (yes, snow) prevented it. Now that we've reached Halloween it seems like a whirlwind of holidays. That's what this group is all about though. Taking those holidays head-on with healthy choices!
We've got this!!!

I've had terrible half term plus TOM so today is not a good day for me, though i am down 1.8 from friday, fingers crossed it keeps going down
I've missed my daily walks too, was great getting out of the house this morning taking the kids to school
hope we all behave our best tonight0 -
I have been swamped with papers! So I have not been logging my daily food like I usually do. And halloween plus TOM is no bueno!!! So today will be tough- but I will be strong and get through it... I have had my fun this past week.. back on my grind!0

UGH!!!! I gained back 1.6 from my big loss last week. I made really bad choices this week, plus outside circumstances kept me from getting my workouts in (plus a little bit of bad planning on my part). I can't take this day by day - I have to take it hour by hour. Why is this so hard? (OK, yeah, I know why it's so hard - that was a rhetorical question). ANYWAY, here's to starting a new week and making better choices and getting my runs and walks in. The weather is supposed to be much nicer than last week so I have no excuses!0

I had a great weekend... danced away on the dance floor for 2 + hours Saturday night... but seems this morning my ankle is back to being swollen again... too much at once... so have to take it easy again... but will hop on the recumbent bike and get some miles in their!
still taking my son out tonight so going to cover some distance for sure, we are in a new neighborhood... so LOTS of places to check out... and it is only every 2-3 houses that is decorated so lots of milage to be covered
Have a great week everybody0 -
Feel better seeing I'm not the only one ho gained this week. 2.2 pounds! Two restaurant meals, one being an Indian buffet, this past weekend certainly didn't help! It's a big, healthy salad for lunch today with a good walk!0

Not sure on my weight yet - I weigh in after work - but TOM is killing me! I am using this as a teaching tool (for myself) though - MODERATION. And log it in!!

I'm down 3 pounds this week. Didn't get any official miles in over the weekend, but I was outside standing in the cold for 3 hours watching my daughter's soccer tournament and freezing my butt off (it was like 36 degrees outside) and then walked around Walmart shopping for over an hour, so I felt like I got a workout. Yesterday we got snow so I didn't feel like walking in that or driving to the gym, so I got my exercise by going up and down my stairs a bunch of times.
Not sure how I'm going to do this week...my grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. And I'll be going back home for the funeral this weekend.0 -
I had a great Halloween unfortunately the scale is paying for it. I go to Ohio University (the #1 party school) and I went out Thursday - Sunday. I went out for pizza and drank and gained a pound. =[ but O well I had a good time and I just need to really focus this week. My goal is to work out 4 times this week and cut out french fries and cheese from my diet. which will be challenging b.c i eat french fries everyday with my salad and put cheese on my salad and I really want to break those bad habits. I hope everyone has a great week and doesn't get to discourage if you gained weight.0

Did a quick workout Saturday morning before going to our church's Fall Festival. I was very well behaved given the HUGE potluck dinner that was provided. I ate in moderation and limited myself to only one cookie for dessert.
Sunday was pretty sedentary - football and napping! No Trick or Treating for me tonight due to my Monday night class. I did manage to lose one of the pounds I gained last week.
Have a happy halloween!0 -
It's Monday. And I'm reminded of how I wound up taking two months off.
Apparently, ditching TOM, staying fairly close to goal (within 40 on the week) when I was able to log, and eyeballing it when I wasn't, getting in extra walking trying to get a decent loss and be "ready" for Halloween... All was pointless. Not only did I not lose, I managed to gain. So, apparently, on the days I didn't log, I'm supposed to believe that not only did I eat through my usual 350 cal for walking, but I ate through the planned deficit MFP gives of 500 cal, PLUS another 875. So, on those days, apparently I ate somewhere in the neighborhood of 3500 cal. EACH DAY. Um... As my big issue is eating next to nothing with the occasional binge? No. I'm fully aware of what those days are like, and I *know* I didn't have any of those (those have always been my restaurant days, and I remember the sluggish feeling well). I am so ridiculously frustrated, so disappointed, and so unhappy I could scream. But, again, why bother? Not like it helps at all. >.<;;;0 -
I had a tough week last week. Super busy at work with little sleep... Too much stress makes my will power go out the window when there are sugary treats around. Then to add Halloween in the mix! I was doomed. I had a 1.5 gain. But I am still down 0.5 pounds from the start. That to me is still a sucess.
For those of you who were like me, what are you going to do to get back on track?
I'll be able to get back to doing my lunch walks this week and I'm going to look into some home exercise options.0 -
I'm a bit frustrated this morning as I did not loose an ounce. I know I haven't been perfect, but I have busted my butt at the gym this last week. For the past 3 days I've been doing an hour of cardio and had acceptected to at least see some movement on the scale. I am hoping I can stay positive and focused after such a frustrating check in. I do feel like I've noticed a change in the way my body feels, by waist feels like it is thinning out so I should probably check my measurements and see if I can see successes there. Hope everyone has a great day and hope this week rocks for you all!!0

I am down .8lbs today. It is one month since I started MFP so I'm still a newbie but I have met my goal of losing 1.5 lb per week having lost 7 lbs. this month. I have also lost 7.5 inches which is so thrilling! I measured myself on my first day ( and nearly cried!) and today. My plan is to take my measurements once per month. Have managed to keep up the exercise too - 15 miles this week. I'm glad Halloween fell on my weigh in and measure day - I feel super motivated to keep the candy out of my mouth and off my hips!
Let's show Halloween who's boss!!!0 -

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.0 -

I'm so sorry about your grandmother. *HUGS*0 -
I'm trying really hard to get all of my walking in every day. I found out that I won't be able to do my lunchtime walk tomorrow because I have to leave work early for a function at my son's school...so I'll have to do something at home. Maybe it's time to have a hot date with Bob! I miss him!!!0
