So here is my story so far:-

I started with MFP in April and lost 27lbs and got to a weight I never thought I could my first goal was 140lb then 135lb but I got 128lb and was totally thrilled. I have always been really good and getting rid of the weight but I am all about extreme's and I have yet to learn balance in the way I eat food. While dieting or whatever you want to call it, staying in my calories of 1200 a day I do great and just stay away for all the temptation.

Now I have been maintaining for since August with a daily allowance of 1850 and bit by bit since then I have been eatting more and more and the weight is slowly creeping back on and need to get re-focused but not sure how to start?? If I am being totally honest I have also not always been logging everything I eta especially if I have signed off for the night and then have something else (night-time snacking is my biggest downfall:blushing: ).

I know my story is probably the same as many other so if any of you are reading this I would love some ideas to get back on track and try and stay there thanks all :flowerforyou:

  • First of all, congratulations on your weight loss, that's fantastic. I'd really like to hear the replies to this - I'm struggling with the same problem, maintenance is hard! I think balance is such an important thing to remember. Maybe setting some new goals would help you get back on track - something like trying to improve your running times if you run, getting your body fat % down, or taking up a new sport and trying to improve in that. Anyway I'd love to hear what everyone else has to say!

I would recommend lower your daily intake again since the weight is coming back on. My husband does this thing where he logs for the day What he is planning on eating and adjusts it when he comes home from work. If U are a late night snacker make sure U add those on too. Your cheating yourself by logging for the day then sneaking a later snack. Just put it on the next day if U have to. That's what I do if I get hungry after logging for the day. I haven't gotten to the point of maintaining since I am still losing but since this is a lifestyle change I guess I will learn eventually  Good Luck to U and have a healthy day:flowerforyou:
  • OMG you sound like me. I've been overweight/obese since childhood. I've lost over 100 pounds 3 times and kept it off for as much as 8 years at a time. You're so right losing it is not nearly as hard as maintaining. Balance always seems to be the problem, all in or nothing. This time around I've decided that it's going to be the last time. I went to a nutritionist who said I shouldn't be restricting, but I was afraid to eat something that I shouldn't be, I felt that was control. He explained to me that control was being able to have a little then walking away from it, truly asking yourself why you would even want more. This works for me and I hope it works for you. One day at a time. I do have times/days that I am not 100%, but I try to get my exercise in and be mindful of what I'm eating. Back on track the next day. So good luck and I hope this helps.
