Is it better to exercise during the day?

I exercise at night because of my hectic morning schedule and the fact that I refuse to wake up at 4:30 AM to exercise. I'm just not a morning person and struggle to wake up at 6AM as it is. So I'm wondering if I'm setting myself up for failure or short changing myself as a result of my stubbornness. Can anyone weigh in and let me know if I should suck it up and wake up early to workout. I've tried to before, but found that I was only putting in about half the effort because I was so tired. I guess since I'm seeing results that I shouldn't worry too much, but if I could get even better results I want to know. : ) Thank you!

I workout at 6:30pm during the week and I find I sleep better those nights. :)
  • Much better to work out at night, as you're burning off the carbs you consumed that day and have much more energy than you would in the morning :)

There are plenty of arguments that morning is better, evening is better, and so on...

The BEST time is the time that fits your schedule and the time that you're able to do it and stay motivated. If you hate getting up early, then you'll never stick to it...so you have to do what works for you!

I walk/jog during my lunch. It's the only time that I feel is MINE. It works for me. You have to find the time that works for you.

The best time to exercise is whatever time fits your schedule so that you'll do it regularly. I've exercised at all times of the day in my life. I've gotten out of bed at ungodly hours to run, I've worked out during the day when I worked the night shift, I've worked out at during my lunch hour, I've worked out right after work, and I've worked out late at night just before bed. None of it made any difference for me in weight loss or health. Just doing it is the important thing.
