Hi, I am looking for people who are using this site while pregnant just to keep in control. I adjusted my settings to maintain instead of lose but was wondering if there is a way to do it better? Just want to try to stay controlled this time around. Thanks for any suggestions!:flowerforyou:

In pregnancy you only need an additional 200-300 calories per day (more than maintenance). While breastfeeding you need 500 more calories than maintenance. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

There is a website just like this but it's for pregnant women. I can't remember the address though, maybe try googling. Hopefully someone else remembers it. I have heard that you need about 300 extra calories a day while pregnant.

    Congrats! :)
Before you change your dietary habits I recommend you speak to your pediatrician, or a nutritionist. I'd hate to see something bad happen because everyone is different.

In the meantime, hopefully some of the ladies on here can give you some guidance!

Hey. I am doing the same thing. Have my calories set at maintain to keep myself under control. This is as much a learning process as losing was! lol!

Depending on what you read, some Docs say to eat 200-300 cals more when pregnant, some say don't worry about it. Some say don't worry about it until half-way through the 2nd into the 3rd.

I found out I was pregnant basically the same week I hit my goal, so I have been using my first trimester to slowly ease back into things.

But, I figure when I get into the 2nd and especially the 3rd trimester, if I need extra cals, I will eat them but will have it be an extra yogurt or piece of fruit or something. But my focus is just to eat enough and focus on nutritious foods. And of course take my prenatal vitamin! And get exercise as much as possible.

    Good luck!

This website and you guys make me so excited to be pregnant! haha

We are hopefully going to start trying this coming Fall for our first child!
  • ME TOO!! I have some medical issues (with the female parts) I had to get under control first, so that will be about 3 months. Which is great because hopefully I can get my weight down to where I want it.

After that my doctor is going to put me on something so I get prego right away. I wondered if anyone was using this site for maintaining.

One of my friends gained A LOT of weight while she was prego because she wasn't eating healthy at all, she ate what she wanted and now is having trouble getting the weight off. I don't want to end up like that and I want to eat food the kid could find useful (not taco bell)

    Good luck with your pregnancy!!!:flowerforyou:

Ask you OB GYN what your calorie intake should be and for a recommendation for exercise. Then customize with those numbers. Congratualtions on the bambino.

I've been using babyfit.com and also http://www.indiacurry.com/women/pregcalc.htm has helped me to gauge where I am. Right now I'm about 3 pounds heavier than I should be at this point in my pregnancy, but considering I made it through the holidays and a few birthdays I'm ok with that. Congrats!

Hi there! I also am pregnant...due September 8th! And still using this site. I had adjusted my goals and was trying to eat maintainence calories, but I've been sick so much that I really eat whatever I can and it usually is not enough. Plus...I haven't been able to stomach any exercise other than breif walking...so been kind of frustrated. But I think the morning (or all-day) sickness is finally slowing down and I'm hoping to get back to some exercise and better eating. So far I have gained 4 pounds and am 9 weeks along. I'm aiming to gain no more than 30 pounds total.

I also have to share that I was just in for my first appointment and they did an ultrasound. I could see and hear the heartbeat, which was AMAZING!!!! And even though my baby isn't much yet, it was still SUCH a great thing to see! I am SO excited to be a mom!!!
