  • Im not modest for my morals are very open and only for my own interpretation. You live life ONCE.

    Agreed!

I think you should dress in a way that reflects the deeper you; like it or not, people get a first impression visually and I think dressing immodestly (low cut tops, short skirts, any too-tight clothes that reveal toomuch in form) screams, "this is what I've got and what I'm all about!" which is, in some cases, true! I think women should dress in a way that minimizes attention to the body so that people, men and women alike, will not make a negative categorization and will instead put more weight into the person's actions/thoughts/behaviors.

As far as clothing is concerned, I don't think this is really an issue for guys. Really, as a 44 year old 200+ pound dude, what could I possibly wear that's "Immodest", or "Showy"? A speedo? That's not immodest, that's just grotesque.

I tend to bare my arms and play up the (somewhat) muscular thing as I think it's my best feature,,, but I'll never be called a tramp over that, just an egomaniac. Thoughts?

I sum it up like this: Be a lady on the street and a freak in the bed.:blushing:

    Bahahaha! Amen to that

    My mantra!

Modesty means knowing when you cover your hooha, and when it's okay to be a little risque. You don't have to be a puritan to be modest, you just have to know what's appropriate and when.

Exactly my thoughts. FTR I was raised in a conserv. christian home as well.

I know how to dress appropriately (and do), in any situation, but I'd never describe myself as "modest."

I think this all depends on how comfortable you are with your own body. Personally, I HATE low-rider jeans and tube tops - I know I can't pull them off, so I don't buy them. However, not everyone needs to act like me. As well, I think people should realize that even if they are extremely confident with themselves, there is a time and a place for everything. You don't need to show up for work in a bikini top underneath your shirt just because you think you look hot. That's just tacky, especially when you're in a workplace setting!!! I guess it all depends on how comfortable each individual person is with themselves.
