Well I just had my 3rd baby 2.5 months ago and I'm getting frustrated! I gain a lot of weight when I'm pregnant. I gained 90 with my 1st and lost it all in a year. I gained 70 with my daughter and lost it all I 6 months. I have lost 36 lbs so far after my third but I lost that in the first month so I feel like I've failed this 1.5 months because I haven't lost any of it. I'm hoping by tracking it I'll start seeing some of it come off again.

  • Welcome to MFP.

But, you can't expect the baby weight to just fall off. It took you a year to put that weight on, it may take another to get it all off.

Hopefully you've been approved for exercise by your doctor since you're not far out of delivery.

Good luck, you can do it! You just need to set realistic expectations. If not, you'll constantly be disappointed when you don't meet them.

Don't despair...you have done it two time before and you can do it again.

This site will help you keep track of your food but just take it slow...

The 3rd baby seems to be the charm, my SIL just had her 3rd and she is a small girl with only a 30 lb gain but she also had her tubes tied and she heard that doesn't help. Well i've had 2 c-sections so I guess I'm up a creek.

I had my 2nd 7 months ago with an 80 lb gain and 40 dropped in 3 weeks, that is fluid all the way. You are probably just feeling body conscience right now. I would just start eating right and exercise. My doctor said give it the same amount of time it took to gain it.

Actually you can google quick weight loss after pregancy has an increase in post partum depression.

just take it day by day.....the longer it takes to come off longer it takes to come back on!

I understand...I gained 60 with mine. At least yours seems to come off fast--my girl turned 2 yesterday and I am still working my *kitten* off (literally). Good luck and welcome, this site really does help!
  • Try not to get overly distraught about it. My doctor told me to expect it to take twice as long to get the weight off with each child because you have so much less time to dedicate to yourself. My youngest will be 3 in 4 months, and I'm still working on getting him off of me. Trust me, I know its hard...I still get upset about it sometimes. Just try to be positive & do what you can when you can. It'll get there eventually, as long as you don't give up. Man...I really need to take my own advice sometimes. :)

Welcome! Give yourself a chance to recover and take things slow. There are lots of moms on MFP in a similar situation.

In case you were unaware, if you are breastfeeding, you can account for this (look it up under food - you can add it to your food diary and it subtracts a certain amount from what you've taken in). I am nursing an 8 month old, so since he is having some solids I only -300 cals, but exclusive nursers can -500 cals.

I myself had lost some of the baby weight but then stalled out and was stuck at 170lbs. I joined MFP, and 50 days later I have lost 13 pounds (and still managed to keep up my milk production). I am eating better and getting more exercise than ever before...hoping to get into BETTER shape than before the pregnancy!

We've got a group for moms with babies called "The Post-Partum Pack" - feel free to check out our most recent post below:

I have that extra 70 pounds of baby weight also but baby is in her twenties!

I never got rid of the weight I gained with the pregnancy and then added more.

But I do agree with others to take it day by day, eventually it will come off if you persist.
