i was running about 30 min almost everday. then i decided i needed to focus more on weighlifting and toning because i was not losing weight. so i pretty much stopped running (my knee was also hurting so i gave it a break) i now lift and i do zumba for cardio. Since i started lifting i have gained weight :frown: so i think i need to start running again.............. i am wanting to get into bodybuilding and i know you are supposed to eat at a surplus but i feel like i am just getting fatter and not gaining much muscle... HELP

If you want to get into body building you are going to gain weight. It's part of putting on muscle. Of course, you'll put on some fat too. It's an inevitable part of eating a surplus (which you need to do to build muscle), then you can "cut" when you get to where you want to be.

The most important thing I can say is be patient. Consistency is what will get you to your goal. The Former Fat Boy article is great. Pick ONE GOAL and move towards it. It's especially hard for women because our weight can fluctuate so much. Read this article on water balance and diet adjustments:

As women we have to give it at least 12 weeks before we see consistent results. Hope this helps!
