Right, I need to haul my squishy behind off the sofa and get moving. I'm not a massive fan of exercise and can only do low impact stuff due to an old knee injury. Any suggestions?

Well, I'm on day 21 of a 90-day challenge. I'm doing ChaLEAN Extreme, which is mostly weight lifting. There's also a cardio portion of it, but you could just skip that and do the weightlifting if you wanted to. But you're not going to de-squish anything without some kind of exercise!

I have a bad knee, too. I got a cortisone shot and now I bike - a LOT. It's not too hard on the knees, and strengthening your quads will actually take pressure off the knee. Kayaking is good, but not at this time of year! It also doesn't have much calorie burn, but it's great for toning your upper body.
  • Oh I know... hence me asking here before asking my husband who used to be a Personal Trainer - I figure you lot may be a bit more gentle!

Indoor cycling!!! Taking spinning classes is amazing!! You burn a ton of calories and it is low impact on your knees and hips :) Good luck!!

Consider swimming. Some of the local universities and hotels might have a pool you can use if your gym doesn't have one.

There's a community pool down the road that I hadn't even considered using!
