Don't eat pre-packaged foods. Make everything fresh. Plan your meals, and cook a larger batch, so you can eat it for a few meals. It was a real eye-opener to track sodium, and realize things like canned anything, and boxed anything are horrendous offenders.

Like everyone else is saying - avoid pre-packaged foods and eating out! Cook your own foods and it will help tremendously!!

Sodium is one of the items you can add to your food diary, along with calories, protein, carbs, etc.

When I go to get something to eat, whether for a meal or snack, I always try to log it in to the food diary FIRST. That way I can see the counts and see if it fits into my day...and have the opportunity to change my mind about whether I actually want that item oooooooooooorrrrr maybe something else that might be better for me.

Doing this also reinforces in my mind, and helps me to remember, what the counts are so that when I am away from my computer, I remember the counts from the stuff I've had before and still can make a good choice.

Don't forget ... sodium adds water weight ... a very ugly item on your scale. Good luck!!! Hope this helps ...
