Okay I have what I think is a pretty interesting question. There are 9 calories in a gram of fat right. So if I go over my daily goal by 10 grams of fat can I offset that by eating 90 calories less than my daily goal? What are the positives and negatives of this?

personally i wouldn't set maximums on any of your macros but minimums instead
but yes that nets it out to zero by doing what you asked0 -

I think you are somehat complicating things. If you are using MFP and you go over 10g on your fat intake, you should still try and stay at your calorie goal. If you stay at your calorie goal and go over on fat, you will have to choose to be UNDER on either protein or carbs. Generally speaking, I would reduce carbs if you exceed fats, and keep cals the same.
...Great, now I'M complicating things.... LOL0 -
No, if you go over your fat by 10 grams you would be over your MFP goal by 90 cals, so you should just lower your carbs by 22 (90/4) grams to keep you at your daily caloric goal.
If you go over in fat but stay under your daily caloric goal by 90, would mean you are missing 180 cals from carbs and/or protein, as 90 of those were used to eat more fat, then you are suggesting cutting another 90 for a total of 180 cals. Depending on the size of your deficit, and % of carbs and protein of your total intake.0 -

There's nothing special about fat that you need to worry about 'canceling it out'. Fat in food does not equal fat in your body.0
