My little tip :

*I can do this becuase I am at home during the day - it wouldnt work if you preprepare your meals.

I find when I prepare my food - like core, and slice up my apple or other things that take prepare time,

I end up only eating when im hungry, as if im not actually hungry (and just bored or such) I dont want to take the time to prepare the food.

So I always choose snacks that I have to put some preparation into.

Whats your tips?

My only tip that helps me is to plan my day and be prepared for it. Make sure I have something healthy to eat. If I get too hungry I will eat almost anything!

And mine: make sure you drink enough! 8 measures a day and more if you're exercising. Sorry if that sounds like preaching to the choir, but so many people in MFP don't do so.....

I always find that if I'm in the mood for just eating for no reason.cleaning the toilet is a good way to put me off lol.

I also find drinking loads helps and the main thing I think has helped me go from 205-143lb is making sure I don't sit down much during the day even if its just wandering around the house its still better than sitting.

-lots of water. I used to hate it but now after forcing myself to drink it all the time its pretty much habit.

-changing things up when I get bored. This can be really simple, such as doing my cardio after my strength training at the gym instead of before (seriously - that helps me, lol, i am such a creature of habit), or looking up new recipes to try out when my meals get monotonous. Or just buying some new workout clothes or even a new water bottle. For some reason, these tiny changes motivate me and keep me interested.

-looking up motivational quotes or browsing the "success stories" here on mfp. Checking out the kick-*kitten* workouts my friends here did today

  • Weighing food is the most accurate way I've found of portion control.

Making way more than what you need for a serving, then portioning it out into single servings and freeze. Great for grains, soups, anything that will survive being in the freezer. Then you don't spend as much time making dinner after a long day.

I cook on Sundays for the week so I can be sure to have a healthy meal ready when when I get home and I'm so hungry I can eat a side of beef! That also ensures I have a healthy lunch ready to grab to take to work. I don't have my favorite junk foods around the house so snacks are healthy - no option.
