Cottage cheese suggestions

I recently discovered cottage cheese as a good high protein snack to replace my usual Greek yogurt. I didn't like it as a kid, but I tried it again a few weeks ago and found out that I love it. I've tried mixing it with some canned no-sugar-added fruit, but I'm looking for some variety. Any ideas from other cottage cheese lovers?
Thanks!

I eat lots of tossed salads with chicken and I put it on the side of those, sometimes not even using salad dressing, as the cottage cheese(I use the fat free) acts like a dressing.0

I really like the 100 calorie cottage cheese containers. They come with fruit like pinaepple, peaches, and blueberries! Yum!0

I love cottage cheese! My favorite way is with apple sauce and a little sliced almonds on top.
Also, with any salad! Top a salad with a vinaigrette and stir in cottage cheese.
Top the cottage cheese with salsa and serve on crackers. ...
Cottage cheese with the standard pineapple.
Cottage cheese with salt and pepper and nothing else...yum.

Apple sauce with cinnamon, dip with celery
Chopped apple, raisins and curry powder
Top shredded lettuce and sprinkle with rice vinegar0 -
I like it plain or sometimes I add it to my salad. One of my daughters likes it mixed with pineapple (cut in really small pieces and mixed in) in it and my other daughter likes to put it on reduced fat crackers. I have tried it both ways and I think they are both very good.
I have heard mixing jello or applesauce with it. I don't like it that way, but that is another suggestion.0 -

And yeah, I have noticed the sodium content. I've adjusted by cutting out the hot sauce on my eggs on some mornings. It's worth it to get a little variety!0 -
I simple add it to some romaine lettuce to make wraps.
When I make breafkast, I sautee sweet potatoes, red onions, bell peppers, spinach, and tomato. As a topping, I add cottage cheese.
On a bagel as a replacement of cream cheese.0 -
chopped onion, chopped dill pickels, for some reason I really like crushed pepper on it.0

I like to chop up an apple and sprinkle it with cinnamon and then microwave it for a minute or so until it's tender. Then I put a spoonful of cottage cheese on top and Mmmmm!0

i am no help---i use it in my homemade lasagna. sorry
I was thinking of how my mom used it over egg noodles smothered in butter. She called it "Macaroni and Cheese". :laugh: I had the mac and cheese most people are used to for the first time in my High School cafeteria. That poor cafeteria lady! I stared at it as if she put slimy worms on my plate. (No, I didn't have the sense to realize it was right in front of me behind the glass, and not hidden away somewhere in back. It was my first ordering from a cafeteria experience...).
Anyhow, I now use a third of the butter she did, and fat free cottage cheese to make the same recipe.
Prepare noodles according to the package directions. Drain. (7.5 cups)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt the butter in the baking pan. (1/3 of a stick)
Mix the noodles into the butter.
Layer the cottage cheese (3 cups) on top of the noodles
Bake for 30 minutes.
515 calories, 32 protein. I rigged it for 4 servings, but I suppose you can divy it up into smaller portions for less calories.0 -
I use it to make a fake Greek salad (fewer calories than using feta)...
* Chopped whole cucumber (feel like you're eating loads even though it is incredibly low in calories)
* Chopped tomato
* Chopped raw onion
* Cottage cheese
* Splash of olive oil and red wine vinegar
* Couple of olives chopped finely
* Loads and loads of dried oregano (gives it that lovely Greek taste)
Yum! Really quick to do before going to work - I take it in a Tupperware box for lunch.0 -
Fresh chives on top of this one.
