What do you guys think?

So I have already worked out once today for approximately 400 calories. I've got some extra time on my hands and am thinking about working out again. My dilemma you ask? Even adding my dinner which isn't made yet and a late snack my calorie total for today (not my net calories my total intake) is only 1000 calories. I normally try to eat at least 1200 calories and rarely if ever eat back my exercise calories.
So what do you think? Should I create a larger deficit by working out again? What are your feelings on the whole thing?

Uh...NO!! You are creating a large enough deficit already...you will be burning lean muscle (needed to continue to burn fat even at rest) and you are doing no favors for your weightloss efforts.0

NBD for one day. But I wouldn't do that on a continued basis.0

If you work out again... have at least a snack of some sort that includes some protein. You should be fine.0

I agree. Your deficit is probably too large as it is, why would you make it bigger?0 -
While I agree that for one day its probably not a big deal, it sounds like this is something you might usually do? Everyone is different, granted, but if you are regularly eating 1200 calories and burning 400, that's only 800 calories... not an abundance by any means. If you are eating highly nutritious foods, and you're a fairly petite build (not considering the extra pounds , then I say it's probably working for you! Just be careful and don't run your body down by feeding it too little and pushing it too hard. It needs both time and nutrition to recover and become the glowing new you! :happy:0

I've done this before! My body didn't crash, I didn't go into "starvation mode," and I got right back on track the next day! If you want to get in another work out, go for it! Most people are barely motivated enough to get in their first workout! LOL Just don't make it an all the time thing I am also on a 1200 calorie "diet," so I know the type of problem you are feeling right now! Sometimes you are just not that hungry. If you are really worried about it, try getting some type of nut for your snack. They are higher in calories0

I worked out with a trainer often and I was doing hardcore workouts in the AM and then just cardio at night (a few times a week), sometimes if I have a free day I will workout for a few hours since I have the time. What I made sure that I did was have a protein shake or a snack before each workout to give me the fuel I needed to get through it. I lost alot of weight doing this, I didn't gain it back and I didn't feel deprived at all. So it all depends on what your body is telling you. If you ahve extra time and you want to workout, I say do it. It may or may not happen on a daily basis and if it does just ensure you are intaking enough protein to hel fuel you.0

You might try adding some natural peanut butter into a protein shake to make up a few calories if you aren't too high on your fat level or even some avacado with your dinner. You want to make sure you are still giving your body enough fuel or it will like someone else said burn lean muscle and that can be bad for your kidneys if you do this too much.0
