My platue...

I have been bouncing around the 220s for a month now. Last week I dropped to 218.5 and I thought I was through my platue and today, after having a decent weekend, I gained 3.5 lbs back!! It has been like this for a month!!! I am pulling my hair out. I have changed my eating a little, I have started interval sprints to my running. I just don't know what to do!! My "cheat day" was today but I was still under my calorie goal because of my working out. I work out a lot but I can not see how cutting back on working out.. I need some serious help. Only serious answers please. I am going crazy with failure!!

This is not a failure...most experts say a REAL pateau isn't a plateau until it hits 6-8 weeks......so really hunny all u can do is work through it...I've hit two of these so far......not fun...but honestly just keep at it.0

My first suggestion after looking through your diary is that you may need to watch your sodium intake, you could be retaining water. And on that note, my second suggestion is to make sure you are drinking enough water.
And third, just keep at it, it will happen. Keep making good choices and your body will adjust and make changes.
Good luck!0 -

Have you tried cutting back on calories? Try it for a week, maybe aim for 1100-1200, and lower your carbs a bit. Maybe as your protein, try white fish, like salmon, tuna, they are low carb. just some suggestions...YOU CAN DO IT!...have faith and patience, it'll happen ..I have a menu you can follow if you're willing, just let me know.0

Take a look at this website. I am thinking of trying it. I had a rough start at losing, but have been doing pretty good this past month. I am getting down to my last 9 lbs to lose and I have a feeling things are going to be at a stand still soon or maybe a gain.
It's pretty interesting.

I know it is hard but just stick with it. Sometimes you are still losing inches of fat and gaining muscle and that has been the case for me most of my little plateaus. However, the past 2 months have been a true plateau. All I can say is that I did not give up. I definatley did not try as hard every day because I was so frustrated but I kept plugging along the best I could. I always exercise, no matter what but I slacked off too much on drinking water. That is a key for me. And I count calories better which has helped. Just keep on keeping on. I am less than 20 lbs from GW and thought I would never make it but I still believe. It's a lifestyle choice and I am going to live it.0

I looked at your diary and I see a couple of things... First of all, watch the sodium, it's killer and can cause water retention. You can counteract that some by making sure you're drinking plenty of water. Second of all, if you're being 100% honest in that diary, then you aren't eating enough calories. You are always under the 1200 net and often WELL under. I have learned from experience (and so have a lot of my MFP friends) that sometimes you have to eat more to lose more. If you aren't fueling your body properly, it's going to be extremely reluctant to let anything go... I was under 1200 cals for a while and I started gaining... when I upped my net goal to 1300 or 1350 the weight started flying off... so, yeah... either eat a little more or exercise a little less... whatever you have to do to make your net calories at least rise above the 1200 mark... Hope that helped some...0

Your welcome. I read a post, maybe yesterday, about someone finally breaking their plateau after following the article. Bookmarked it just in case I may need it..
Good luck!

My suggestion, don't have a cheat day! I usually am slack on the weekends, but found if I watched my simple carbs (i.e. not eat bread), there was less damage to work off during the week.

I can't tell by your diary since it is not filled out. If it is you are starving.
I found that changing my protein amount and carb amount helped me out nicely.0 -
